A quiet moment at home before the ceremony at Appleby College, Oakville

A bride and her mother, photographed at home in the last quiet minutes before leaving for the chapel at Appleby College in Oakville. Getting-ready time is almost always rushed, and the temptation as a photographer is to keep moving through the shot list. I try not to. Time with each parent in those final minutes, on their own and unhurried, is one of the small things I always try to make space for. It rarely takes more than two or three minutes, and the photographs from those minutes tend to outlast the rest of the day.
