One of my favourite moments of the night: the bride's grandmother making her way across the dance floor to greet her granddaughter. The whole evening came down to this small crossing — three generations meeting in the middle of a celebration.
This is the kind of moment that gets missed when a photographer is only working through a shot list. Grandparents, in particular, often hold the quiet emotional centre of a wedding day — and photographing them well takes attention, patience, and a willingness to wait for the frame.
It's also part of why so many of my family photography clients in Leaside, Lawrence Park, Rosedale, and Forest Hill come to me specifically for multi-generation portraits — the same eye for connection between generations shapes both kinds of work.
